Damon duo joins party for Hemsworth’s wife
Chris Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, are thanking the crew of family and friends who turned up for her birthday during an epic weekend abroad — and Cambridge’s own Matt Damon and his other half, Luciana Barroso, were among the pack of partygoers.
“Early birthday celebrations with my favourite people,” Pataky wrote alongside a group photo including her Thor hubby and the Damon duo this weekend. She and Hemsworth also shared a series of snaps from the festivities on their respective Instagram accounts on Tuesday, when they expressed their gratitude to their guests.
From the looks of it, the trip en masse consisted of a little laidback fun in the sun in Ibiza, Spain. Pataky, who turns 43 on Thursday, and her pals apparently caught plenty of rays while cruising on a a yacht and relaxing on a number of beaches.
True to form, Hemsworth and Damon also savored their bro time, which included engaging in some archery one-upmanship. In a video Hemsworth shared on social media, the close friends are first seen bickering over their onscreen stunts. The Australian actor can be heard taking shots at the “Bourne” franchise star, claiming Damon doesn’t do his own stunts. Spurred by the teasing, Damon raises a bow and attempts to shoot a suction-cup arrow at the “Avenger,” who calmly snatches the arrow out of the air with one hand before it hits him, like he’s a ninja warrior. If it’s any consolation, we can say that the embarrassed Damon’s aim was at least on point.
The Hemsworth and Damon clans are known for their somewhat regular vacation hang-outs. The families usually spend time in Hemsworth’s native Australia, with their most recent joint adventures Down Under having happened in March, when they visited Rottnest Island together.
