Just a few questions, please, Mr. Mueller
Now that Democrats have lost irreparable credibility telling the American people for the past three years the 2016 Trump campaign colluded with Russia — since disproven by the special counsel’s costly investigation — they’re now wasting even more taxpayer dollars hauling Robert Mueller in to testify today, trying to prove the president obstructed justice.
All of which illustrates what we’ve known all along — the Democrats’ endless investigations against the president were never really about Russian meddling in U.S. elections. Or, once Mueller and his team of prosecutors found no criminal conspiracy, they would’ve shuttered its investigation.
But they didn’t. They spent two years — and blew through at least 40 million tax dollars — to go after Trump, his family and associates to hurt and smear them — so Democrats can benefit. Mission accomplished: Despite a robust economy and historically low unemployment, the GOP lost control of the House in the 2018 midterm elections.
Here’s the first question lawmakers should ask Mueller today:
When did you know there was no collusion between the president, his campaign and Russia? And once you came to that conclusion, why didn’t you let the attorney general and the American people know, instead of sitting on that crucial information for many months, if not years?
According to Justice Department protocol, investigators aren’t supposed to insert themselves in politics. If Mueller knew there was no collusion before the November 2018 midterms and withheld that exculpatory information, hurting Trump and the Republican party politically, his 448-page report should be thrown in the trash, where it belongs. Next question:
Why were thousands of text messages between corrupt former FBI agent Peter Strzok who worked for Mueller and his Trump-hating lover Lisa Page deleted? If any American destroyed government property and evidence relative to a criminal investigation, they’d be indicted.
Then there’s the fact that Hillary Clinton’s campaign funneled money to ex-British spy Christopher Steele, who paid Russian “informants” for Russian propaganda that was used by the FBI to justify spying on the Trump campaign and launch criminal investigations into Trump and his associates. If the special counsel was supposed to review foreign interference in U.S. elections, why didn’t he do a deep dive into Hillary Clinton and the Steele dossier?
The fact that the special counsel shielded Hillary Clinton and the DNC for their real Russian collusion tells you everything you need to know.
