Newton South crosscountry standout Lucy Jenks was named the 2019 Gatorade Massachusetts Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year. Jenks is the first Gatorade Massachusetts Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year to be chosen from Newton South.

Millis named Bob Martellio as its new football coach. Martellio spent the past seven seasons at Uxbridge High School.
