Girls basketball

St. Mary’s (15-1) handled Archbishop Williams, 73-51, behind Maiya Bergdorf’s 17 points and 13 from Gabby Torres. In the loss, Jess Knight, who recorded 23 points and 16 rebounds, tallied her 1,000th career point.

In the Dual County League, Emma Kiernan finished with 14 points and eight rebounds as Wayland (8-4) took down Lincoln-Sudbury, 44-36.

Newton South crosscount­ry standout Lucy Jenks was named the 2019 Gatorade Massachuse­tts Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year. Jenks is the first Gatorade Massachuse­tts Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year to be chosen from Newton South.

Millis named Bob Martellio as its new football coach. Martellio spent the past seven seasons at Uxbridge High School.
