Jeff Petry had four assists, Carey Price made 29 saves and the Montreal Canadiens beat the Florida Panthers 4-0 on Saturday.

It was Price’s third shutout of the season and No. 47 of his career. Petry recorded his first career four-point game.

Playing their first game since Jan. 21, the Panthers (28-17-5) were shut out for the first time this season. They had won six in a row, scoring at least four goals in each of the victories.

Price beat Sergei Bobrovsky in a battle of the NHL’s two highest-paid goaltenders. Bobrovsky stopped 31 shots.

Sabres 2, Blue Jackets 1 — Two days after smashing his stick in frustration, Sabres captain Jack Eichel held his arms up in celebration.

Eichel scored 36 seconds into overtime to secure Buffalo’s 2-1 win. At the other end end of the ice, goalie Carter Hutton was being mobbed by his teammates for snapping an 0-8-4 skid and earning his first win since Oct. 22.

Not only did the Sabres snap a three-game skid Saturday, they defeated a Columbus team that had won six straight and entered the day enjoying a 16-2-4 run.

Canucks 3, Islanders 3 — Quinn Hughes scored twice, including his eighth of the season 42 seconds into overtime, and Vancouver got its fifth consecutive victory.

J.T. Miller and Tim Schaller also scored for Vancouver, and Jacob Markstrom had 34 saves. The Pacific Division-leading Canucks improved to 14-3-0 since Dec. 19.

Rangers 1, Red Wings 0 — Henrik Lundqvist made 33 saves for his first shutout of the season and Mika Zibanejad scored in the first period.

Flyers 6, Avalanche 3 — Kevin Hayes and Joel Farabee scored two goals each and seldom-used reserve goaltender Alex Lyon made 28 saves to earn his first win in nearly two years.

Sean Couturier assisted on three of the Flyers goals, but the undrafted Lyon was the pleasant surprise of the night for Philadelphia.

Pitted against a potent Avalanche team that entered the game second in the Western Conference in points, the 27-year-old Lyon got his first win in 682 days, when the Flyers beat the Rangers 4-3 on March 22, 2018.

Maple Leafs 2, Senators 1 — Mitch Marner scored on a power play at 3:54 of overtime for Toronto.

Jason Spezza scored in regulation for Toronto, which got 24 saves from Michael Hutchinson.

Mattias Janmark broke into the Devils zone and took the initial shot, and Pavelski knocked the rebound past goalie Louis Domingue.

Jason Dickinson and Joel Kiviranta also scored for Dallas and Ben Bishop made 29 saves as the Stars improved to 3-4-0 in their last seven games as they battle to hold a playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Kevin Rooney and Nico Hischier scored for New Jersey while Domingue stopped 28 shots. New Jersey, well out of the playoff chase in the Eastern Conference, has picked up points in its last three contests (1-0-2).

Jets 5, Blues 2 — Jack Roslovic had two goals and an assist to lead Winnipeg.

The Jets snapped a fivegame losing streak and are 12-12-2 at home this season.

After the Blues pulled to within 3-2 with 4:10 left, Winnipeg captain Blake Wheeler put the game away with an empty-net goal with 1:31 left. Patrik Laine added another empty-netter with 21 seconds remaining.
