GIRLS OUTDOOR TRACK ALL-DECADE TEAM

Brooke-Lynn Williams Norton, 100/200 (2015-2017)

Not only is Williams the decade’s best, but she is also the all-time best sprinter in Massachuse­tts. She captured the All-State 100 and 200 twice apiece and is the state record-holder in both with times of 11.89 and 24.24. Williams was a perennial Tri-Valley League All-Star and notched two New England titles and four Div. 4 titles in the 100 and three over 200 meters.

Where Are They Now: Williams went on to compete at Penn State and was part of the sprint medley team that broke the school record. Williams competed in three events at the Big 10 championsh­ips in 2019. She also lowered her personal best in the 100 to 11.75.

Vanessa Clerveaux Brockton, 100 hurdles (2011-2012)

An enormous talent, Clerveaux dominated the 100 hurdles and came away with All-State titles in 2011 and 2012 along with gold medals in the Div. 1 title. She was a three-time 100 hurdles champion at the South Shore Principals Invitation­al and also captured a Coaches Invitation­al title.

Where Are They Now: Clerveaux captured several invitation­al titles at the University of Alabama. She represente­d Haiti at the Central American and Caribbean Games and earned a silver medal in the 100 hurdles. Clerveaux also raced for Haiti at the NACAC Championsh­ips, Pan American Games and

World Championsh­ips.

Lucy Jenks Newton South, Mile (2019)

Jenks lost out on her spring track campaign, but still establishe­d herself as the best in a long line of elite milers in the past decade. Jenks captured the All-State title in 4:55.16 before bolting to a time of 4:47.75 at the Brooks Invitation­al. She surged away from the field to capture the gold medal at the Div. 1 EMass Championsh­ips.

Where Are They Now: Jenks will attend Stanford University, where she will compete on the cross country and indoor and outdoor track teams.

Alexandra Stanton Medfield, 400 hurdles (2011)

A versatile talent, Stanton owns the fastest 400 hurdle time ever run by a Massachuse­tts athlete with her 59.52 at the 2011 All-State meet. The Div. 3 EMass Champion, she was ninth at the New Balance Nationals in 60.53 and second at New Englands with a 43.13. She was the Tri-Valley League champion in her specialty.

Where Are They Now: Stanton competed at Brown University and finished third in the 400 hurdles at the 2014 Ivy League Championsh­ips. She also captured wins at the Brown Springtime Open and Mark Young Invitation­al.

Anna Jordahl-Henry Wellesley, High jump (2018-2019)

Jordahl-Henry captured the All-State title in 2018 with a leap of 5-8 and defended her title a year later with the same height. She was a two-time Div. 1 EMass Champion and a Bay State Conference All-Star.

Where Are They Now: Jordahl-Henry attends Columbia University. She was the high jump champion at the Ivy League Indoor Track Championsh­ips. Jordahl-Henry was also victorious at 14th Giegengack Invitation­al and the Heptagonal Championsh­ips.

Tiana Bazie Dennis-Yarmouth, Discus (2018-2019)

An exceptiona­l talent in the discus circle, Bazie always came up big on the biggest stage. She was victorious at the Coaches Invitation­al in 2018 with a toss of 129-9 and finished a strong second a year later with a 123-4 effort. Bazie saved her best performanc­es for the All-States, capturing gold in 2018 with a 134-1 toss then coming back to defend her title at 130-3 in 2019. She finished her high school career with a personal best of 135-5.

Where Are They Now: Bazie is attending the University of Louisville on a full scholarshi­p and competed in three events during the indoor season.

Karina Shepard Dracut, 800 (2013-2014)

Blessed with a combinatio­n of speed and strength, Shepard dominated the 800 in her final two years at Dracut. She captured the All-State title as a junior in 2:09.29 and defended it in fine fashion with a scintillat­ing 2:07.14. She was the Gatorade Player of the Year in track as a senior and was the Merrimack Conference champion in both the 800 and mile. Shepard captured the Div. 4 EMass title in 2014 and was ninth in the New Balance Nationals in 2013.

Where Are They Now: Competed at Stanford University where she garnered a Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.

Sierra Irvin Hingham, 400 (2013-2015)

Proven tough in the 400, Irvin dominated the event with three consecutiv­e All-State titles. She clocked a 56.82 for the win in2 013 as a sophomore and followed up with victories in 2014 in 54.51 and a 56.03 in 2015. Irvin was a Patriot League All-Star who captured four Div. 2 titles and a New England title in 2014.

Where Are They Now: Irvin competed at Arizona State where she clocked a personal best of 54.44 at the 37th Annual Sun Angel Classic and a 24.34 over 200 meters 2016 Duel In The Desert meet.

Brianna Duncan Cambridge, Long jump (2014-2015)

Arguably the most talented athlete of her era, Duncan was a two-time All-State champion in the long jump. She captured the 2014 crown with a leap of 18-4 1/4 and returned to defend with an 18-8 3/4 effort off the runway. She was an eighttime All-State champion in high school and the 2015 Gatorade Massachuse­tts Girls’ Athlete of the Year.

Where Are They Now: Duncan spent two years at the University of North Carolina before transferri­ng to the University of Oregon. She has a 19-9 personal best in the long jump and has triple jumped 39-1/2.

Carla Forbes Newton North, Triple jump (2010-2012)

A ferocious talent, Forbes captured the national long jump and triple jump title as a junior. She was a Bay State League All-Star and All-State champion in the triple jump in 2010 with a leap of 41-1 1/2. She finished with a New England best of 42-9 1/2 despite missing her senior year to injury and was second in the All-State championsh­ips as a junior with a 39-8 1/2 effort.

Where Are They Now: Forbes attended Stanford University. She leaped to a collegiate best of 41-11 1/4 to take second at the Stanford University as a junior. As a freshman she was victorious in the triple jump at both the Brutus Hamilton Open and the West Coast Last Chance meet.

Shira Stoller Sharon, Javelin (2017-2018)

Stoller was a force at Sharon High where she captured the the All-States in 2017 with a heave of 145-9. She came back even stronger the following year to defend her turf with a 15610 toss. Stoller was the Div. 2 champion twice with tosses of 136-5 and 144-6 and also clinched two New England titles.

Where Are They Now: Stoller competes in the throwing events Brown University.

Grace Connolly Natick, 2 mile (2017-2019)

A tough and smart competitor, Connolly captured All-State 2-mile titles in 2017 in 10:43.61 and 2019 with a 10:34.12. She dropped down to the mile in 2018 was the All-State champin in a quick 4:51.96. Connolly broke the meet record in the 2-mile at the Coaches Invitation­al in 2019 with a sterling 10:25.93. She broke the mile mark the previous year in 4:50.96. Connolly ran 4:49.34 for second in the mile at the New Balance Nationals.

Where Are They Now: Connolly currently runs for Stanford University.

Catarina Rocha Peabody, 2 mile (2011-2013)

One of the all-time greats along with Connolly, Rocha captured three straight All-State 2-mile titles, the best coming in 2013 with a time of 10:34.25. Rocha was the Div. 1 EMass champion three consecutiv­e years in the 2-mile. Rocha also had several mile titles to her credit and was a two-time All-State champion in cross country. She was ninth at the 2013 New Balance Nationals in the 2-mile.

Where Are They Now: Rocha competed at Providence College where she ran personal bests of 4:45.41 in the mile, 15:55.86 over 5K and 33:39.43 in the 10K. She was the Big East champion in the

10K in 2018.

Cameron Garabian Seekonk, Shot put (2018-2019)

Garabian owned the shot put circle over a two-year span. She captured the All-State title in 2018 with a heave of 41-6 3/4 and went on to defend her title with a 45-1 effort. She broke the Coaches Invitation­al record with her 44-5 3/4 throw in 2019 to easily defend her title. Garabian also had a pair of Div. 4 victories.

Where Are They Now: Garabian attends Harvard University and competed during the indoor track season.

Julia Valenti North Reading, Pole vault (2013-2016)

A solid and consistent competitor, Valenti captured a pair of All-State titles by clearing 11-9 and 12-4. She was a four-time Div. 4 champion and holds the division record with a leap vault of 12-0 3/4. Valenti also holds the school record in the 100 hurdles.

Where Are They Now: Valenti competed at Dartmouth College where she was an All-Ivy League Team member four times in the pole vault. She was the 2019 New England champion in her specialty during the spring campaign.
