Current COVID Mountain Resort Rules

-

To keep mountain sport lovers up to speed e ed this season, we will update p pdate you each Wednesday on what the travel rules are to each h regional i l ski state, highlighting and changes from the prior week.

We will also, as the season progresses, do our best to update you on dates looking to sell out for tickets, special food and amenity additions at resorts, and any other breaking news that can help you plan your week’s adventures.

Massachusetts: Currently, residents of New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine may travel to Massachusetts without restriction. However, those returning to Vermont and Maine from here will need to follow testing and quarantine protocols for reentry. Massachusetts residents may travel freely to and from any of the in-state resorts. Rhode Island and Connecticut residents will need to fill out a travel form and produce a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of visiting Massachusetts. Jiminy Peak resort is open as well. Advanced ticket purchase is strongly suggested.

Skiing and riding debuted this past week at Wachusett Mountain Resort, the first Bay State resort to open this season.

New Hampshire: New Hampshire has currently lifted all quarantine and testing requirements for Massachusetts residents visiting the state. They do ask you follow their motto of “Know before you go” and research details. You can source that information at www.skinh.com/ covid-19-consumer. New Hampshire resorts ask that you follow their guidance while visiting. One wrinkle added this week: While you can still travel freely from Massachusetts to New Hampshire, returning will now require a COVID-19 test or quarantine.

Vermont: Vermont continues its new type of lockdown; one that allows people to come and go from places, but in a very limited way with others. For travelers, for now, the State of Vermont has suspended its leisure travel map and implemented a mandatory quarantine for anyone returning or traveling to Vermont. Resorts there ask that you confirm your compliance online before purchasing lift tickets. You can find details at https://skivermont.com/trip-planningand-covid-19.

Resorts have begun to open there, with Killington Mountain Resort leading the way. Parking reservations are required, and non-pass holders must purchase a ticket online ahead of time. The resort suggests you book the parking spot first.

Maine: Like Vermont, Maine continues tightened travel restrictions that impact all visitors. You may visit the state with a recently completed COVID-19 test, or by quarantining for 14 days prior. New Hampshire residents are exempt from this.

Both Sunday River Resort and Sugarloaf opened this week. For now, if you do not have a season pass, pre-purchase of tickets is required.
