Current COVID Mountain Resort Rules

-

To keep mountain sport ort lovers up to speed this season, we will update you each Wednesday on what the travel rules are to each regional ski state, highlighting and changes from the prior week.

We will also, as the season progresses, do our best to update you on dates looking to sell out for tickets, special food and amenity additions at resorts, and any other breaking news that can help you plan your week’s adventures.

Massachusetts: The Bay State tweaked their travel rules and now, the only state you can visit without required quarantine and/or testing is Hawaii. Should you choose to ski in any state other than Massachusetts, you’ll need to quarantine/ test before as well as when returning, for now. Massachusetts residents may travel freely to and from any of the in-state resorts. All out-of-state residents other than Hawaiian will need to fill out a visitor form and follow the guidelines.

Wachusett Mountain Resort is officially open all days now, and Jiminy Peak opens this weekend, takes a few days off and then launches for all season the following Saturday. Both require advanced reservations and ticket purchases.

New Hampshire: New Hampshire continues to allow Bay State and other New England state visitors to come without quarantine or pre-testing, with an added caveat: To come back to the Bay State, you’ll now need to quarantine and/or test. They do ask you follow their motto of “Know before you go” and research details. Their updated travel guidelines as of mid November can be found here: www.dhhs.nh.gov/dphs/cdcs/covid19/ documents/travel-guidance.pdf. For ski resort details, information is at www.skinh.com/covid19-consumer. New Hampshire resorts ask that you follow their guidance while visiting.

A host of New Hampshire resorts are open now, including Cannon Mountain Resort, Cranmore, Bretton Woods, Gunstock, Loon, Ragged, Pat’s Peak and Waterville. All require online ticket purchase.

Vermont: For travelers, for now, the State of Vermont has suspended its leisure travel map and implemented a mandatory quarantine for anyone returning or traveling to Vermont. You can cut the quarantine time down by doing it at home for seven days and then securing a negative test. Resorts there ask that you confirm your compliance online before purchasing lift tickets. You can find details at https://skivermont.com/trip-planningand-covid-19.

Details on rules and ticket options can be found at each resort website as well as at SkiVermont.

Maine: Like Vermont, Maine continues tightened travel restrictions that impact all visitors. You may visit the state with a recently completed COVID-19 test, or by quarantining for 14 days prior. New Hampshire residents are exempt from this.

Both Sunday River Resort and Sugarloaf are open and requiring pre-purchase of tickets online. Expect more resorts in the coming weeks as the weather grows colder.
