2 shot in Randolph road rage incident
Police seek public’s help in investigation
Randolph Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the car from which someone fired multiple times into another vehicle, injuring a mother and son.
Cops say the mom and son — 60 and 26 years old — were driving on Pleasant Street around 11 p.m. Friday night in the South Shore city when someone behind them swung into the opposite lane of traffic, pulled up beside them and opened fire.
The shooter fired four to seven shots into the car, Randolph Police Chief William Pace said in a statement. Bullets hit the man in the shoulder and the woman in the arm. They called the cops, and both were taken to local hospitals, where they were treated for what the police said don’t appear to
be life-threatening injuries.
Both of them are from Randolph, but weren’t further identified.
Randolph Police are asking that anyone with information call them at 781-9631212.
Pace said the shooting
“does not appear to be random.” The investigation on Saturday was still active and ongoing.
Pace said it’s being investigated as a “road rage incident.”
Police on Saturday released a picture of a non
descript dark blue four-door sedan they believe the shooter was driving.
Cops said “the suspect vehicle was operating erratically on Route 28 Southbound passing other cars,” according to reports. Police said witnesses said the car
was swerving around North Main Street, passing other vehicles before ending up behind the mother and son. The driver followed the pair as they turned off of Route 28 and onto Pleasant Street, where he shot them, police said.
