FBI Boston arrests N.H. man linked to U.S. Capitol riots
A New Hampshire man accused of storming the U.S. Capitol last week is the first local person tied to the pro-Trump mob who has been arrested by FBI Boston Division agents.
FBI agents on Wednesday arrested Thomas Gallagher, 61, of Bridgewater, N.H., after the U.S. Court for the District of Columbia had issued an arrest warrant.
Gallagher was taken into custody without incident in New Hampshire and charged with knowingly entering the halls of Congress and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
When the pro-Trump mob was in the Capitol building, Capitol Police officers ordered the crowd to leave the building, according to the criminal complaint.
“The crowd did not comply, and instead responded by shouting and cursing at the Capitol Police Officers,” the complaint reads.
Also on Thursday, a retired Pennsylvania firefighter was arrested on suspicion of throwing a fire extinguisher that hit three police officers during the siege at the U.S. Capitol.
Robert Sanford was arrested on charges including assault of a police officer and unlawfully entering the Capitol.
The charges against Sanford are not related to the attack on Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, who was hit with a fire extinguisher and died.
The feds on Thursday also arrested the man carrying a Confederate battle flag during the Capitol riot. Kevin Seefried, who was seen carrying the flag, was arrested in Delaware.
