TDS: The other pandemic
Operation Warp Speed was a great success, so now it’s time for Joe Biden to undertake his own massive intervention against a dread disease ravaging if not the entire country, then at least the coastal trust-funded enclaves where the Beautiful People don’t wear masks together.
Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).
Dementia Joe could call his medical mobilization “Operation Warped,” because the victims of TDS have gone utterly out of their minds.
Like all viruses, TDS has its ebbs and flows, and “experts” predicted that with Trump leaving office today, this dread mental disorder would be on its way out.
But no, TDS seems more virulent than ever. Consider Hillary Clinton. You could almost call TDS Hillary Clinton’s Disease, because she has long been the epidemic’s most prominent victim.
Last weekend, when Hillary should have been out of the ICU and well on her way to a full recovery, she relapsed with this rant against 45:
“I would love to see his phone records, to see whether he was talking to Putin the day that the insurgents invaded our Capitol.”
Hillary’s case illustrates one of the most common pathologies of TDS — projection, accusing someone else of the bad behavior you yourself have been engaging in.
For example, that fictitious Putin-Trump connection was concocted in the made-up smear Hillary Clinton herself paid for, the dodgy dossier, as even the CIA has admitted.
Her husband took $500,000 from the Russians for speeches, their “foundation” grabbed millions in return for … favors, shall we say.
But Trump is the Russian agent?
TDS is extremely contagious. As with COVID, masks won’t protect you.
Consider the case of Democrat operative Jake Tapper, who used to be a flack for Chelsea Clinton’s motherin-law. He now works for what the epidemiologists call a “super spreader” of TDS — CNN.
In 2017, Clinton operative Tapper promoted the Clintons’ dodgy dossier as totally accurate, for hours on end. Now, the TDS has spread, and Tapper has also been felled by a severe case of projection, denouncing Trump’s “big lie” and a “virus of disinformation.”
Jake Tapper knows a lot about lies and disinformation. But now he sneers at the Trumpers’ attitudes — “no contrition, no apologies, no acknowledgement of what they did.”
Just like Jake Tapper’s refusal to offer remorse for his role in the Russian collusion hoax.
How about Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif.? For four years he claimed he had top-secret classified information he had obtained from the highest levels of US intelligence — which he could not reveal because he was an honorable patriot — showing that Trump was utterly controlled by the Kremlin.
Schiff went on every super-spreading TV network, saying that he had seen incontrovertible evidence of Russian collusion. There was no such evidence, not even a scintilla.
On TV Sunday, with his eyes bugging out (another symptom of TDS), Schiff demanded that Trump be banned from post-presidential intelligence briefings. Schiff said POTUS has “politicized intelligence” — talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
“I don’t think he can be trusted with it now and in the future, he certainly can’t be trusted.”
You can look this up in the medical journals — it is a clinical fact that victims of TDS are more likely to be wearing bow ties than members of the general population.
Consider George Will. Some call him a fop, others a dilettante. Will has been incapacitated by TDS for years, but occasionally recovers long enough to infect others. Tuesday he wrote of Trump, “He began his political career spouting birtherism …”
Another symptom of TDS: amnesia. Mr. Bow Tie, who introduced “birtherism” to politics? That would be the aforementioned Hillary Clinton, in 2007.
And where did she get it from? From Barack Obama himself, in a “sell sheet” for one of his first autobiographies in which it was claimed Barry had been born in Kenya.
But now it’s all Donald Trump’s fault. Classic TDS.
Another tell-tale sign of TDS: changing the meanings of words.
As Michael Goodwin pointed out in the New York Post: “’Violence’ is speech when committed by Black Lives Matter, and ‘speech’ is violence when it comes from Trumpers.”
Another classic behavior pattern of TDS sufferers: wildly divergent treatment of the same issue whether or not Trump is involved.
Example: When BLM and antifa were trying to tear down statues in D.C. like the one of Gen. Andrew Jackson in Lafayette Square, the super-spreaders did everything but cheer the rioters and arsonists on.
Now, the same crowd is claiming QAnon is infiltrating the National Guard and the Washington Post frets with “intense apprehension” over the city’s “iconic monuments and buildings.”
How about ice cream? Trump was the world’s worst human being when he got two scoops of ice cream at the White House while “reporters” from Time got only one.
Now here’s a headline from TDS-infected E!:
“All the Times Joe Biden’s Love for Ice Cream Melted Our Hearts.”
This latest outbreak of TDS has flared up in the last 72 hours. No one saw it coming — not St. Anthony Fauci or “Dr.” Jill Biden.
We must stop the spread of this epidemic!
