Central Catholic rides fast start to victory

Central Catholic opened the game on a 17-0 run and never looked back in defeating North Andover, 55-20, in the Merrimack Valley Conference. Ashley Dinges had a solid all-around game for the Raiders, scoring 15 points, grabbing six rebounds, dishing out three assists and adding three steals.

Also in the MVC, Tatum Shaw scored 38 points as Andover defeated Haverhill, 62-50.

Emily D’Ambrosio poured in a game-high 33 points to lead Dighton-Rehoboth (5-0) to a 65-28 win over Fairhaven in the South Coast Conference. … Nora Barmarshi scored 27 points as Bourne defeated Greater New Bedford.

In Patriot League action, Colleen Johnston scored 17 points as Hingham defeated Plymouth South, 67-47. … Abby Martin who led the way with 15 points as Whitman-Hanson beat Marshfield, 41-32.

Emma Bloom scored 13 points as Peabody defeated Swampscott, 37-22, in the Northeaste­rn Conference.

Katelyn Mollica scored 27 points as Foxboro cruised to a 76-19 win over Stoughton in the Hockomock League.

Avery O’Connor scored 38 points as Dedham defeated Bellingham, 47-38, in the TriValley League. … Lauren Beach scored 20 points as Medway handled Norton, 5129. Sophomore Catherine Antwi powered the Lowell Catholic offense with a game-high 21 points as part of a 60-21 season-opening win over Fellowship Christian.

Boys basketball

Shea Doherty poured in 23 points as Acton-Boxboro moved to 3-0 with a 64-48 victory over Concord-Carlisle in the Dual County League. … Matt Dooley registered a career-high 30 points to ignite Lincoln-Sudbury in a 70-60 win over Newton South, while Kyle O’Connell aided the effort with 20 points. … Junior Dylan DiGangi scored a careerhigh 28 points to lift Bedford (3-2) to a 87-80 double-overtime win over Wayland.

James Genetti notched 17 points and eight rebounds, while Jeremy Perez tallied seven assists and six steals to help Shawsheen (3-0) grind out a 50-47 Commonweal­th Athletic Conference win over Essex Tech.

In the Northeaste­rn Conference, Brennen Johnston racked up 19 points and Ben Dillon chipped in 14 to lift Masconomet (2-2) to a 68-40 victory over Winthrop .… Hunter Fleming had 16 points as Marblehead defeated Gloucester, 66-58.

Behind 15 points each from Brett Pendenza and Jake Queeney, as well as 14 more from KC Ugwuakazi, Stoughton used solid team play to edge Foxboro, 67-64, in the Hockomock League. … Matt Boen scored 30 points as Mansfield (4-0) defeated Attleboro, 80-58. … Ben Blanchard scored a team-high 12 points as Milford beat King Philip, 66-61.

Cam Shaughness­y scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Plymouth North defeated Duxbury, 52-46, in the Patriot League. … Nick Johannes scored 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as Hingham (3-2) handled Plymouth South, 67-47 . ... Luke Rinaldi led a quintet of double figure scorers with 13 points as Dover-Sherborn (2-2) cruised to a 71-38 win over Millis in the TriValley League.
