Our educational programs allow UMass Dartmouth students to perform at the highest levels. Proving they have the skills to enter the growing health care workforce, our recent senior nursing students earned a 95% pass rate on their licensure exams. UMass Law students always place among the top in Massachusetts for Bar passage, which supplies our communities with highly qualified lawyers. The prestigious U.S. News & World Report ranked our University in the top 100 nationally and third in New England for the social mobility of our graduates.
Our students learn and research alongside distinguished faculty, like biology professor Erin Bromage, who is constantly featured in national media for research-based COVID-19 health and safety advice. Recognizing growing areas of technology, interdisciplinary faculty teams have secured $8.8 million in federal grants for research in undersea autonomous vehicles and advanced robotics. Similarly, our School for Marine Science and Technology (SMAST) is a leader in fisheries science and marine renewable energy research that supports our region’s ocean and coastal industries.
Outside of academics, UMass Dartmouth has more than 170 clubs and organizations for you to participate in and meet your peers. Our vibrant campus community is made up of individuals from 39 states and 33 countries, and 69% of first-year students live on campus. For student-athletes, we offer 17 competitive Division III varsity teams, plus intramurals and club sports.
