Hybrid F-150 impresses

I’m giving Ford a ‘wow,’ ‘astounding’ and a ‘heck yeah’

America’s Truck just went hybrid!

Calling all my construction workers, camping lovers, and truck lovers. Heck, calling everyone!

The world knows that when it comes to trucks, we have to give Ford a lot of credit. They are the standard in manufacturing, developing new ideas for the consumer and implementing them in a rapid fashion.

You might think it’s an oxymoron — trucks and efficiency are not normally on top of consumers’ lists as they need them for things that require force, ability and usage, which historically takes a lot of power and energy. Enter the Ford F-150 Hybrid.

Our 2021 4x4 Supercrew Limited came with a 3.5L Powerboost full hybrid engine with an electronic 10speed automatic transmission. At an astounding 400 horsepower, and 500 lb.-ft. of torque, it was so nice to drive. Quick get up and go, yet a smooth ride all the time. Tow ratings came in at 14,000, best in class for the four-door crew cab segment. The 30.6-gallon fuel tank came standard and significantly got 24.2 miles per gallon on our test. How many trucks can say that?

A Pro Power Onboard 2.4kW generator is standard with the 3.5L engine and has the functionality for so many things. Job sites, campgrounds, powering items in your house when you lose electricity, I can go on for days on how this can be utilized, I am sure you can too. What a genius feature in our Iconic Silver F-150.

For the interior, the word “wow” comes to mind. Featuring all new Admiral Blue multicontour front leather seats with ActiveMotion, it was the most comfortable seat I have ever experienced in a pickup. The seats were plush, squishy and welcoming. A 12-inch infotainment screen was also positioned correctly and easy to use.

When it comes to trucks, we love a Ford in the driveway. They are always stylish, ahead of their times and a pleasure to drive. Whether towing, construction, hauling or just plain old driving, the new F-150 is certainly a showstopper.
