Vaccine passports?

-

Faye Flam (” Vaccine passports would speed return to normalcy,” March 27) wants us to return to normalcy by creating a vaccine passport. Then only vaccinated people would be allowed to travel, go to movie theaters, eat in restaurants, live normal lives.

Without a uniform standard, it may be hard for businesses to collect proof of vaccine status, she states. Would such businesses ask for a document claiming that we are compliant?

Faye Flam would probably claim that wearing a more visible sign would be necessary.

Who would want to walk beside an unvaccinated citizen, or be in the same aisle in the grocery store.

She claims that vaccine passports can work if done in a fair way and delivered with a smart, compassionate message.

I have a few questions. What happened to HIPPA laws? Why stop at just the COVID vaccine? How about regular flu shots? TB tests? Measles? Can we have felons wear some sort of indicator that they might not be safe to be around, sex offenders, and the list goes on.

How about a big gold star on our clothing so everyone would know our status?

Maybe Faye Flam would suggest that such selfish people who do not wish to take an experimental vaccine should be rounded up for the safety of the compliant and sent to re-education camps.

I mean, we must protect ourselves. The world is a dangerous place. We must obey. This has a familiar ring to it. Wasn’t this done before?
