Tips to score an appointment

- By Rick Sobey

As everyone 16-plus in Massachusetts qualifies for the coronavirus vaccine on Monday, there will be a mad dash to score a coveted vaccination appointment.

While you should sign-up for the state’s preregistration system for the mass vaccination sites, you could be waiting weeks for an open slot.

As you wait, here are some tips to grabbing an appointment at other locations, including at CVS, Walgreens and neighborhood health clinics:

Follow the Twitter account @vaccinetime. The bot account posts new vaccine appointments from all around the state immediately when the slots go live online. The key is to set up notifications on your phone, so when new appointments are added, you can quickly click on the link in the Tweet and proceed to sign up.

Frequently visit the website: www.macovidvaccines.com. The website shows locations around Massachusetts that have available appointments. The site just launched text notifications, so you can get alerts right to your phone when appointments become available.

Sign up for alerts on the website www.macovidvaccinefinder.org. The website called MA COVID Vaccine Finder sends people email alerts immediately when appointments are available.

Get help with booking an appointment by visiting www.macovidvaxhelp.com. The army of volunteers has successfully secured COVID vaccine appointments for thousands of eligible individuals across Massachusetts.
