THOMAS GIORDANO

-

Thomas Giordano, age 94, of Saugus, passed away on January 19, 2022 at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill after a brief illness. Thomas was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude (Diamond) Giordano, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born in Revere, he was the son of the late Emilio and Rose Giordano and the youngest of his siblings. Predeceased by brothers Michael, Ralph, Philip, Joseph, William, Frank, Alfred; sisters Elvira, Florence, Alice, and dearest nephew Bobby. Tom was a proud Navy veteran who served from 1945-1954, during both WWII and the Korean War. During his enlistment he spent time stationed in Newfoundland and Guam. After the Navy, Tom went on to work for the Town of Saugus Department of Public Works as a heavy equipment operator for 32 years, retiring in 1987. Tom cherished the time he got to spend with family and friends. He loved spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking. In the warmer months you could always find him tending to his garden. He was an avid sports fan who had a passion for horse racing, bowling on various leagues, and of course rooting for the Red Sox. Tom enjoyed traveling, especially cruises, and taking trips to the casino. Additionally, he was fond of playing bingo and doing puzzles in his leisure time. Tom was known for his discerning palate. He could never put enough salt on his food or sugar in his coffee. He always had a pep in his step and a twinkle in his eye, especially when it came to his family. Tom lived life with an energy and zeal that a much younger person would be envious of. He had a true zest for life and lived independently well into his later years. One can only hope to live a life as long and full as Tom had. He will be missed. Tom is survived by his daughter Bonnie Jordan and her late husband Robert, son Chris Giordano and his wife Debra, and his daughter Lynne Falzarano; grandchildren Cara and her husband Justin, Julie, April and her husband Nikolaus, Alecia, Bryanna and her husband Matthew, and Amber. Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Saturday, April 23, 2022 in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn at 11:00 A.M.
