KEARNEY, Robert J. “Bob”. Of Allston, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 8, 2023 after a long courageous battle with cancer at the age of 70 years. Beloved husband of Marion J. (Antonelli) Kearney for 43 years. Loving father of Ryan C. and his wife Meghan Kearney of Somerville, and Nathan D. and his wife Melissa Kearney of Allston. Devoted “Bobo” of Bronwyn, Greta, June, Jack, and Max Kearney. Son of the late Bernard A. and Nina A. (Davis) Kearney. Brother of Richard and his wife Jean Kearney of New Hampshire, Linda and her husband Pompeo Leone of Marshfield, Mark Kearney and his companion Michelle Barry of New Hampshire, and Nancy and her husband Dan LeLacheur of North Reading. Son-in-law of the late John J. Antonelli Sr. and Dolores M. “Doris” (Coleman) Antonelli. Brother-in-law of Judy A. Antonelli of Allston, John J. Antonelli Jr. and his wife Maureen of Readville, Anthony M. Antonelli Sr. and his wife Carol of Hyde Park, and Kim M. DeMarco of North Attleboro. Bob was survived by many nieces, nephews, grandniece­s, grandnephe­ws. Loving uncle of the late Kevin M. Kearney and John J. “Johnny” Antonelli III. Funeral from the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave., BRIGHTON, on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 9:00 A.M. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church, 43 Holton Street, Allston, at 10:00 A.M. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Bob was a retired licensed plumber for Harvard University for 36 years. He was a longtime coach for Allston Brighton Youth Hockey and North Allston Little League. He was an avid golfer and proud inaugural member of the Bookworms Golf League, where he was the 2011 and 2020 low net. He also enjoyed his many summers at Salisbury Beach and trips to North Conway and Woodstock, New Hampshire. Above all, he was a consummate family man…his grandchild­ren were his life. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Bob Kearney may be made to the Massachuse­tts General Hospital Cancer Center in support of Lori Wirth M.D. & thyroid cancer research.
