OUELLETTE, George S.

-

Age 63, of Noank, Connecticut, died unexpectedly, on October 22, 2022. He was the son of the late George J. Ouellette and the late Sally (Krowchun) Ouellette, formerly of Chelmsford, Massachusetts.

After graduating from Chelmsford High School, George attended Boston University and NYU Medical School. After completing his internship, residency and fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital, George joined Coastal Digestive Care Center in New London, where he practiced gastroenterology for more than thirty years. George was beloved by his colleagues and adored by his patients, known as much for his compassion and caring as his skills as a gifted physician.

Although George accomplished many things in his life, none was more important to him than raising his daughter, Hope with his longtime partner, Sandi. George was a natural at parenting. Whether it was planning special father-daughter weekends in Boston, cooking and baking together, attending recitals and school events, or just hanging out together, George adored every minute he spent with Hope. They shared a goofy sense of humor and a love of memes and practical jokes. George could not have been more proud of the young woman Hope had become.

George loved fishing and golfing. An Arnold Palmer fan, he was a regular at the Lawrence & Memorial Golf Tournament on Fisher’s Island and a founding member of the Stonington Country Club. Always the gracious host, George enjoyed opening his home to family and friends, making entertaining seem effortless and every guest feel welcome. George was unfailingly generous, a loyal and devoted friend who treated every friendship as if it was his most important one.

In addition to his daughter, Hope and his partner, Sandi Wallace (both of Noank), George is survived by his sister, Susan Ouellette of Woodstock, Maryland, his sister, Linda Ouellette of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, his sister, Karen Ouellette of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, his brother-in-law, Mitchell Toloczko of Hopkinton, Massachusetts, and his godson, Alexander Toloczko of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.

His family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, November 1st, from 4-7 pm, at the Mystic Funeral Home, located on Route 1 in MYSTIC, CT. Please note: The GPS address for the funeral home is 51 Williams Ave., Mystic. A Service for George will be Wednesday, November 2nd, at 10:00 am, at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, George’s legacy can be honored with donations to Yale Digestive Diseases Fellowship Fund, Yale Section of Digestive Diseases, P.O. Box 208019, New Haven, CT 062508019.
