Ledlum gives Harvard men a lift over Columbia

Chris Ledlum’s 23 points helped Harvard defeat visiting Columbia, 73-51, on Saturday in men’s college basketball. Ledlum added 10 rebounds for the Crimson (11-7, 2-2 Ivy). Idan Tretout scored 11 points while going 4 of 9 from the field (3 for 6 from the 3-point line). Justice Ajogbor recorded 10 points and finished 5 of 7 from the floor. Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa led the Lions (6-13, 1-3) in scoring, finishing with 15 points. Zinou Bedri added 10 points and six rebounds for Columbia. Avery Brown also had 8 points . . . Matt Cross had 22 points and seven rebounds as UMass (11-6, 2-3 Atlantic 10) beat visiting Rhode Island, 7565. Dyondre Dominguez added 12 points and seven rebounds, while Keon Thompson recorded 9 points. Ishmael Leggett finished with 19 points for the Rams (6-11, 2-3) . . . Jalen Rucker’s 29 points helped Army defeat host Boston University, 83-74. Rucker also had five assists for the Black Knights (11-8, 5-1 Patriot). Walter Whyte led the Terriers (9-10, 2-4) in scoring, finishing with 16 points, while Jonas Harper added 15 points and two blocks. Ethan Brittain-Watts added 11 points . . . Amari Williams and Garfield Turner each scored 12 points to help Drexel defeat host Northeaste­rn, 76-55. Williams had six rebounds for the Dragons (10-8, 4-2 CAA). Turner was 4 of 6 from the field and 4 of 4 from the free throw line, and added five rebounds. The Huskies (6-10, 2-3) were led by Masai Troutman, who posted 12 points. Jahmyl Telfort added 10 points and six rebounds for Northeaste­rn. Chase Cormier had 7 points . . . Despite 25 points from Lola Mullaney, the Harvard women’s basketball team (9-7, 2-2 Ivy) lost to Columbia (14-3, 3-1), 82-56. Mullaney finished 5 of 11 from the 3-point line.
