Of Wellesley, passed, on April 26,

2023, at the age of 94. Bea devoted her entire life to helping people in need, especially in making children’s dreams come true. She was a caring and selfless wife, mother, grandmothe­r, greatgrand­mother and friend, as well as a mentor to fellow telecommun­ications profession­als at AT&T and several major Boston hospitals. Born in Beverly to the late Edward and Mary Ellen

Lally, Bea grew up in Dorchester with her two older sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Fricke and Theresa Peterson, who both predecease­d her. Bea married Arthur Merriam from Boston in 1954 and they moved to Wellesley in 1966. Her sons, Art of Leominster and Chris of Annapolis, MD, ask for your prayers to help celebrate her long and inspiring life of achievemen­t serving the Church, her family and the community. In addition to her two sons, Bea is survived by her two daughters-in-law, Jean and Paige; her five grandsons, Andy, Jarred, Ryan, Sean, and Michael; their wives, Kerrie and Lori; her nine great-grandchild­ren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bea’s family and friends were her heart, joy and legacy.

Visiting Hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington Street, WELLESLEY, on Monday, May 1, from 5:00-8:00 PM. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday, May 2, at 9AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Paul Church, 502 Washington

St., Wellesley, at 10AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
