Emily Appleby

Lincoln-Sudbury, sr. (nordic)

The top-ranked skier in MassBay West, Appleby was third at the state meet, fourth in the state team qualifier, and 41st in the U18 10K skate. She plays Ultimate Frisbee, mountain bikes, and will attend Colorado at Boulder.

Evie Bernard

Hamilton-Wenham, fr. (alpine)

The top downhiller in the North Shore League in her first year, Bernard placed fourth (slalom) and sixth (GS) in the state meet at Berkshire East. A member of Mass Elite Lacrosse, she also plays varsity soccer and lacrosse.

Robert Blanchard

Cohasset, fr. (alpine)

What a debut: the overall Ski East champion, and the state’s best in the GS, along with 13th place in the slalom at Berkshire East. A racer for the Bretton Woods Ski team, he was second in New Hampshire’s SuperG.

Jillian Bradford

Tahanto, fr. (alpine)

The No. 1 skier in MassBay West Omega, the Boylston teen skis for the Nashoba co-op. She raced to a sixth (slalom) and fifth (GS) in the state meet at Berkshire East. She also plays soccer and mountain bikes.

Ian Brenner

Newton South, jr. (nordic)

The MassBay East champion paced South to a runner-up finish at the state meet with his third-place surge. A captain, he was third in the state qualifier, and helped raise $12K to combat climate change (Race for Snow).

Finn Feist

Concord-Carlisle, sr. (nordic)

The second-ranked skier in MassBay West, Feist finished second at the state meet for the champion Patriots, earning a trip to Easterns. The Freedom Trail Nordic and the National Honor Society member will ski Nordic at Bates.

Oliver Fernandez-Tai

Newton North, jr. (nordic)

Fourth in the MassBay East, Fernandez-Tai legged out a fifth-place finish in the state meet, was 13th in the state team qualifier (classic/ skating), was named to the state’s Eastern team, and is part of Freedom Trail Nordic.

Summer Flannery

Newton South, fr. (alpine)

The top racer in MassBay West Alpha, Flannery collected a pair of top 30 finishes at the state meet and earned a spot at the Easterns. She is on the Gunstock ski team and also plays club soccer for Juventus.

Josh Haarmann

St. John’s Prep, soph. (alpine)

The Boxford teen fueled Prep’s repeat as state champion, racing to third (slalom) and eighth (GS) at Berkshire East. A member of the state champion football and lacrosse teams, he is also on the Student Council and Best Buddies.

Will Harrington

Hamilton-Wenham, jr. (alpine) Racing for the Hamilton-Wenham co-op, Harrington was second in the North Shore League, placed fifth (slalom) and fourth (GS) at the state meet, then 10th in the GS at Easterns. He’s also a varsity soccer and lacrosse player.

Sarah Kirincich

Concord-Carlisle, jr. (nordic)

A vital contributo­r for the state champion Patriots, Kirincich was third in MassBay West, sixth in the state meet at Prospect Mountain, and then 18th at Easterns. A National Honor Society member, she rowed crew last spring.

Eleanor Lubin

Wachusett, sr. (alpine)

The four-time team MVP and twotime captain from Princeton was second overall in the Central Mass League, and placed ninth (GS) and 13th (slalom) at the state meet. She was 10th (slalom) and 12th (GS) in U18 Easterns and will attend Utah.

Dashiell Martin

Newton South, fr. (nordic)

The first-year skier was a key cog for the state runner-up Lions, placing ninth at Prospect Mountain. He was sixth in MassBay East racing, named to the Mass Nordic U16 and Eastern teams, and enjoys hiking and biking.

Tyler Merritt

Wellesley, jr. (nordic)

The team MVP was the thirdranke­d racer in MassBay East, with two first- and second-place finishes. Merritt was seventh in the state meet and 58th at Easterns. He runs cross-country and track and carries a 4.74 GPA.

Hannah Petersen

Brookline, fr. (nordic)

In her first season, Petersen was the second-best skier in MassBay East, finished third at the state meet, and was third at the New England U16 5K skate championsh­ips. She was the rookie of the year on the cross-country team.

Kate Robinson

Wachusett, soph. (alpine)

The Princeton resident capped her season with a third-place finish (slalom) at the state meet, and 23rd in the GS. She also qualified for U16 Easterns at Sugarloaf. She runs cross-country, plays lacrosse, and is a mountain biker.

Libby Rogers

Hingham, fr. (alpine)

The individual champion in Ski East, Rogers raced to fourth (GS) and eighth-place finishes (slalom) in her debut at the state meet. She competed for Team Massachuse­tts at Easterns, and is a two-time qualifier for USSA U16 Eastern finals.

Tom Rogers

BC High, sr. (alpine)

The Villanova-bound Hingham resident was second in Ski East races for the runner-up Eagles, raced to second (slalom) at the state meet, and was selected for Easterns. He is a member of the Mount Washington Valley ski team.

Liam Sakakeeny

Newton South, jr. (nordic)

In South’s rise to MassBay East champion and state runner-up, Sakakeeny was second in league races, sixth at Prospect Mountain for states, and top 30 at Easterns. He also runs cross-country and track, and has a passion for music.

Lillie Salgado

Newton North, jr. (nordic)

In North’s runner-up finish at states, Salgado was fifth overall after being the third-ranked skier in MassBay East. She also runs crosscount­ry and track and will complete her senior year at Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine.

Lukas Schemmel

Winchester, soph. (alpine)

A top 5 finisher in MassBay West Omega, Schemmel placed seventh (GS) and ninth (slalom) in the state meet at Berkshire East. He is a member the Black & Blue Trail Smashers at Waterville, plays soccer, and runs track.

Petar Stojanovic

Weston, sr. (alpine)

The second-best skier in MassBay West Omega, Stojanovic was fifth (GS) and sixth (slalom) at the state meet. He also plays tennis, takes six AP classes, is fluent in French and Serbian, and will study engineerin­g at UMass.

Ella Varnerin

Nashoba, sr. (alpine)

A four-time state qualifier from Stow, Varnerin placed third (slalom) and fifth (GS) at the MIAA meet, and then sixth and 10th, respective­ly, at Easterns as captain of Team Massachuse­tts. She will attend Vermont.

Tyler Zilinski

Ashland, soph. (alpine)

The Central Mass Conference individual champion, Zilinski raced to a fourth-place finish in the slalom and 15th in the GS at the state meet. Selected for the Eastern HS championsh­ips, he is member of the Gunstock Ski Club.
