Week of May 15

On Sunday, May 15, Friendship Baptist Church, located on West Line Street in Calhoun, will celebrate Youth Day beginning at 3 p.m. The 2016 graduates will be celebrated and all youth will be honored. Elder Leroy S. Mobley, Jr., formerly of Calhoun, will lead the service.

Revival at Boone Ford Baptist Church will be held from Monday, May 16 through Friday, May 20 at 7 p.m. each night. Isaac Johns will be preaching and special singing nightly.

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, located at 3882 Red Bud Road, will have their Closet of Hope open on Saturday, May 21 from 9 – 11 a.m. Free Hot Breakfast from 9 – 10:30 a.m.

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will host their annual Homecoming on Sunday, May 15. Service begins at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Lamar Bearden guest speaking and special music by Faye Bentley. Lunch will follow in Fellowship Hall. Pastor David Peeler and the church family invite everyone to join in a time of worship and fellowship.

Crusin' 2016 Car Show Fundraiser will be held at Tom B David Airport located at 1957 US HWY 41 in Calhoun on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. All proceeds will sponsor Redeemed Youth Group for Collide Youth Conference 2016. Newtown Baptist Church announces that Chris McDaniel, formerly with award winning country band Confederat­e Railroad, will be singing and speaking in both morning and evening services on Sunday, May 22,

11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Chris has a special gift in singing and songwritin­g and he’ll be sharing his life transformi­ng testimony. Pastor Walter Hare invites all to come and be a part of this special morning and evening of worship.

Evergreen Baptist Church of Gordon County will hold a Communion & Foot Washing on Sunday, May 22 at 6 p.m. Pastor Bro. Roger Hooker invites everyone to attend.

White Graves Baptist Church in Ranger will be having Homecoming on Sunday, May 22 at 11 a.m. Bro Mike Holcomb, former base singer with the Inspiratio­ns, will be preaching and singing. Lunch will follow the service. Everyone is invited to attend.

Greater Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 259 Herring Road, Armuchee will celebrate their Annual Homecoming Day on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. Pastor Davelyn Williams and Greater New Anointing Church, Rockmart will be the guest.

Bible Church of Jesus will hold Homecoming 2016 on Monday, May 30 at 10:30 a.m. Bible Church of Jesus would like to invite everyone to come out and help us celebrate our annual homecoming. You are invited to join us at Victory Fellowship Center as we recognize some of Gordon County’s finest graduating high school seniors at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 4 at the 5th annual M.M. Simmons Scholarshi­p Banquet. This year we will be awarding three deserving seniors with scholarshi­ps in the amount of $1500 each. One other senior pursuing a career in the field of Nursing will receive a scholarshi­p in the amount of $1000. So come out to support and encourage the success of our future generation. The M.M. Simmons Fellowship Hall is located at 925 Oothcaloog­a Street in Calhoun. Tickets for the event are $35 for adults and $25 for students. Tables for six are available for $200. Join us for VBS! "Heroes in Training" June 6-8, 2016 6:30-8:30 p.m. nightly located at Calhoun Church of Christ 1301 Dews Pond Road Calhoun, Georgia. You are invited to meet some “Heroes” from Bible that have “Super Powers” given to them by God: Samson with “Super Strength”; Queen Esther with “Super Courage”; and King Solomon with “Super Wisdom”.

The North Georgia General Missionary Baptist Associatio­n Congress of Christian Education will be held Thursday, June 9 and Friday, June 10 at 6 p.m. and on Saturday, June 11 at 9 a.m. There will be a performanc­e by Jai Dowdy on Thursday, a Youth Rally Concert on Friday and classes and a picnic on Saturday.
