Gordon Hospital’s CREATION Health Farmers’ Market is a local market providing local farmers and producers the opportunit­y to sell fresh produce and homemade items to local consumers. This includes but is not limited to fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, plants, herbs, nuts, honey, jams, jellies, salsas, oil, vinegars, baked goods, beverages, and 100 percent handmade arts and crafts. There is no fee to participat­e as a vendor. The market runs every Thursday evening from 5 - 7 p.m. June 16 – Aug. 18. The market is located on the campus of Gordon Hospital at 1035 Red Bud Road NE. A benefit will be held at the Oostanaula School. Community Club, located at 1595 Oostanaula Bend Rd. S.W. in Calhoun, on Saturday, July 23, 2016 beginning at 5 p.m. The benefit will be for purchasing the materials to repair the floors in the building. Jerusalem Ridge will be providing the entertainm­ent. The benefit will include cakewalks, door prizes, and lots of auction items. The Northwest Georgia Regional Commission’s Area Agency on Aging will hold its Quarterly Meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016 at the Thornton Recreation Center, 102 North Floyd Park Road, Rome, Ga 30165 (across from Armuchee High School on Highway 27 North). The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. The meeting is open to the public.
