Local school systems announce Open House schedules for 2016-2017 school year
Calhoun City Schools
Calhoun City Schools will hold a drop- in system- wide Open House for all schools on Thursday, Aug. 4 from 12 – 6 p. m.
Calhoun High School will host freshman orientation on Sunday, July 31, from 2 – 4 p. m. This is for all rising 9th graders and their parents.
All Calhoun Pre- K parent orientation meetings will be on Thursday, Aug. 4 from 12 – 6 p. m., with individual classes holding other dropin times for students to meet their teachers.
Gordon County elementary schools
All Gordon County elementary schools ( Belwood, Fairmount, Red Bud, Sonoraville, Tolbert and W. L. Swain) will hold Open House on Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 4- 6 p. m. Gordon County Pre- K Orientation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 8: 30 a. m.
Gordon County middle schools
Ashworth Middle School will hold Open House on Tuesday, Aug. 2 from 4 – 6 p. m.
Red Bud Middle School will hold Open House on Tuesday, Aug. 2:
Seventh grade orientation will be held from 4 – 4: 30 p. m. in the RBMS gym; a tour will be held from 4: 30 - 5: 15 p. m.
Sixth grade orientation will be from 5: 30 –6 p. m. in the RBMS a tour will be held from 6 – 6: 45
Gordon Central High School

Gordon Central will hold Open House on the following days:
Freshmen Open House will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 2 at 6 p. m.
Senior Open House will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 9 a. m.
Junior Open House will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 1 p. m. Sophomore Open held on Wednesday, House Aug. 3
Sonoraville High School
will at 2 be p. m.
All schedules will be given first day of school and open house will occur at a later date.
Rising 8th graders - drop in between 4: 30 and 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug 1. You will not know who your specific teachers are but you can come meet all the teachers including your advisor and buy a locker at that time. You can wait and pick your locker after school starts and you see your schedule.
Senior Parking: Senior Parking will be sold on Monday, Aug. 1 based on this schedule:
Early Bird for those that made the honor roll for both semesters last year from 8: 30 - 9: 15 a. m. Early Bird for merit list from 9: 30 - 10: 30 a. m. All other seniors from 10: 30 - 11: 30 a. m. Junior Parking: Junior Parking will be sold on Tuesday, Aug. 2 following the same schedule as above.
All other parking will be sold Wednesday, Aug. 3 from 9 - 10 a. m.
