UW Young Leaders Society holds first Lunch with Leaders

-

United Way of Gordon County’s Young Leaders Society held their first Lunch with Leaders event on Friday, Aug. 12, hosting Mr. Brian Carson, president of North American Flooring of Mohawk Industries, as their inaugural speaker. Carson shared some personal experiences about his growth with leadership and challenged everyone in the room to get the most out of their work experience. “If your work experience is not meeting your goals, you are essentially wasting one third of your life,” said Carson. “It is important that while you are working, you look for ways to add value to the company with suggestions for better productivity or cost reduction ideas.”

The Young Leaders Society consists of representation from major firms, small businesses, government and other community leaders. Ashley Goble, director of Communications & Community Involvement, would like to thank everyone that attended the luncheon, adding that she thinks motivational speakers like Carson will encourage participation in United Way events. United Way is looking forward to the next Lunch with Leaders in November.
