Hare brothers to return to HAC on Aug. 27

Brothers Stephen, Philip and Jonathan Hare will return to the arts center stage on Aug. 27, 7 p. m., entertaini­ng audience goers with a musical journey of “Songs Through the Decades.”

Come join these Sons of a Preacher Man and sing along to some of your favorite tunes: “Chattanoog­a Choo Choo,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Stand By Me,” “Hotel California,” “Devil Went Down to Georgia,” “Desperado,” “Billy Jean,” “Purple Rain,” “Candle in the Wind,” “I Gotta Feelin’,” and “Boot Scootin’ Boogie”, to name a few.

The brothers feel right at home playing hymns and southern gospel, but their repertoire includes everything from bluegrass and rockabilly to good old jazz and rock- nroll. The multi- talented musicians can play piano, guitar, trumpet, flugelhorn, drums, mandolin, accordion and harmonica.

Stephen Hare is the oldest son and affectiona­tely nicknamed the “Rebel”. Married to wife Sara, their 11- yearold son, Seth, attends Red Bud Middle School. Stephen serves as Care Pastor at Rock Bridge Community Church in Dalton.

Philip, the middle son, and wife, Julie, have two sons, Dee, age 14, who attends Gordon Central, and Luke, age 12, a student at Ashworth Middle. Minister of Music at Macedonia Baptist Church in Dalton, Philip is also a vocal coach, studio owner ( PHD Studios) and touring musician.

Youngest son Jonathan, married to Amanda, has three stepchildr­en: Aubrey, Caleb and Sarah. For over 20 years he has worked at the Jewelry Exchange in Dalton as a jewelry repair technician.
