Join the fun-join Cub Scouting

The Boy Scouts of America wants to make it easy to join Cub Scouting. On Thursday, Aug. 25 at 7 p. m., boys and their families will be able to sign up for Scouting in a number of locations across Bartow and Gordon counties.

Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades. The program combines outdoor activities, sports, academics, and more in a fun and exciting program that helps families teach ideals such as honesty, good citizenshi­p and respect. Last year, more than 5,000 youth participat­ed in Scouting programs across Northwest Georgia Council.

Cub Scouting sign- up events, will be held at Bartow and Gordon county elementary schools and Cartersvil­le and Calhoun Elementary Schools on Aug. 25 at 7 p. m.

Join Scouting fliers will be distribute­d in schools before the scheduled sighup events. Interested boys and parents are encouraged to attend a meeting in their neighborho­od elementary school.

Cub Scout sign- ups are scheduled at the following locations:

Bartow County Elementary schools

Emerson Baptist Church

Northpoint­e Church in Adairsvill­e

Gordon County Elementary schools

Cartersvil­le Elementary School

Calhoun Elementary School
