Season Plans

This year Calhoun has smaller teams for football, basketball, and competition. The requirements to participate have been increased along with high expectations.

“We are very proud of the girls that have stepped up and are really working on their skills to be a part of this program,” said Reeves. “We had five seniors attend the CheerHawaii USA leadership camp in Honolulu, Hawaii this summer: Sammy Bramlett, Kelsey Hall, Marlee Nichelson, Katee Queen and Hannah Young. Sammy and Kelsey both received individual awards as leaders. Leslie Barton, Anna Kostreba, Hannah Norrell, Alexis Owens, Julia Palazzolo, and Cecelia Swink attended UCA camp this summer and received many blue and gold ribbons for excellence, the spirit stick and outstanding trophy. Leslie received the Pin It Forward award, and Hannah Norrell was asked to be an instructor next summer.

“Cecelia, Julia, Hannah and Alexis made AllAmerican Cheerleader with Grace Jones earning the title of All-American Mascot. Our entire program worked a community camp this summer, a middle school camp and attended team camp in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. At their team camp two coaches and two cheerleaders from Fair Haven, Vermont joined us. It was awesome to share with another high school especially one from the New England area.”
