TOBI Says, Are you a birdbrain?

-

Most people would be upset if you called them a birdbrain. It is not a good thing to call someone. If you watched any of the Little League World Series, or NFL football games, or the NASCAR race in the last week, you saw lots of helmets. The helmets were required to protect the head and the brains of those participants. Getting hit in the head could cause serious damage to anybody. They are doing lots of studies now to design helmets to better protect the players.

Some brilliant men are doing research. They have tried many things to make the players safer. The latest studies are now watch- ing birds. Well the woodpecker is of special interest to study. The woodpecker knocks his head against a tree over and over without damaging his skull or brain! How does he do that? Remember some men believe all life has evolved over time, to develop his abilities.

The woodpecker has a specially designed skull and brain. It is not what the researchers thought. It is different than all other animals. It took some smart men to discover the differences. Now they hope to use this knowledge to make better helmets. That would save many lives and injuries to players.

The Bible says that God made the animals and man. He designed them. It was not an accident, or mistake, or chance event. Maybe they should look at some of the other things that God designed. Maybe a birdbrain is not so bad after all. Remember that the next time you put on a helmet.
