Welcome to the Principal’s Office

-

Mr. Peter Coombe, Calhoun Middle School / Calhoun High School Principal, exemplified his expectation that teachers go beyond the four walls of the traditional classroom in reaching our students by moving his office to the lobby of CHS. Students were drawn to the break up of monotony this offered with “going to the principal’s office.” Our student feedback was positive and the phrase that “he came to us” was used numerous times. CCS strives to reach our students by doing whatever it takes. Administrators, teachers, and support staff are always available to students and we anticipate seeing more examples of our staff exceeding our standard of excellence by reaching more students in our classes and community.

Ashworth Middle School’s Junior Thespian Troupe 89222 recently inducted 11 new members into the International Thespian Society. ITS is an honor society for theatre arts students that promotes academics and work in the theatre. To be eligible for Junior Thespian membership, students in grades six through eight must attend a school with an active Junior Thespian troupe and complete a sufficient quantity and quality of work in theatre arts. These students received enough honors to be inducted into the Society at the end of last year for their participation in the AMS Spring Musical.

The AMS Students inducted are pictured, left to right: Macee Hall, Sierra Hill, Kaylee Colburn, Haleigh Poarch, Sydney Rainwater, Lainey Richardson, Maite Ramirez, and Hailey Sloan. Not pictured are Addison Baker, Taylen Ingram, and Jasmine Ullman.
