CLEVELAND STATE FALL BASEBALL TOURNAMENTS

— Cleveland State Community College will host two fall baseball tournaments in Cleveland, Tenn. For 18-under high school or select teams. The first tournament will be Sept. 24-25 with an eight-team limit. The tournament will be four-game pool play and the cost is $475 and a dozen balls. Deadline to enter is Sept. 16. The second tournament will be Oct. 8-9 with an eight-team limit. It will also be four-game pool play and the cost is $475 and a dozen balls. Deadline to enter is Sept. 30. UNITY RUN

— The 23rd annual Unity Run sponsored by the United Way of Gordon County will be held on Sept. 27 with a 1K Kid’s Run at 5 p.m. and 5K Run/Walk at 6:30 p.m. The starting line will be at Gordon Central High School and the race will finish at the Historic Calhoun Depot. Registration is available online at www.gordoncountyunitedway.org or www.active.com. Registration will also be available on the day of the race starting at 4 p.m. at the Gordon Central High gym. Participants can pick up their race numbers and pre-register for the race on Monday, Sept. 26 at the Calhoun Depot from 2-6 p.m. Top male and female finishers from each age group will be awarded a medal and awards will also be given to the top three for each age group. GORDON CENTRAL ALUMNI BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

— Gordon Central will host their first-ever alumni basketball tournament on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Gordon Central High gym. The cost is $100 per team and registration will last through Oct. 1. There will be a men’s and women’s bracket and 75 percent of each team must be Gordon Central High alumni. Brackets will be posted one week prior to the tournament. Sign-in will start in the gym lobby at 8 a.m. the day of the tournament. T-Shirts will be given to all participants, and t-shirt sizes need to be turned in by Oct. 1.
