Bartow History Museum to hold spooktacular events in October
The Bartow History Museum is being transformed into the Spooky Museum for our next Museum After Dark event, according to Nicole Masters, Manager of Programs. On Saturday, Oct. 15, from 4 to 7 p.m., all fairies, pirates, monsters, princesses and others of their ilk are invited to join us. Come in costume or come as you are. Get your face painted, play games, create a craft and partake of tasty treats, if you dare! Visit the exhibit gallery to see some eerie museum visitors, creepy crawlies and spooky surprises. Vote for your favorite pumpkin in our pumpkin decorating contest to determine which will win the title of “The Great Pumpkin.”
“This is a night your kids won’t want to miss,” says Masters.
As a special treat, we are giving participants the opportunity to take home their favorite decorated pumpkin in this year’s silent auction, “The Pick of the Patch.”
For more information on Spooky Museum or details concerning donating a decorated pumpkin, or bidding on one, please visit www. BartowHistoryMuseum. org. Watch for photos on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram showing this year’s entries or stop by the museum to see them in person.
Tickets are $5 and are available at www. BartowHistoryMuseum. org or at the door. Price of admission to the museum includes all activities for Spooky Museum. All Fraidy Cats welcome!
The Bartow History Museum also announces that tickets are on sale now for the Historic Cartersville Ghost Walk, on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Take a guided tour around downtown Cartersville, while hearing about the lives, and sometimes tragic stories, of former residents, with a few ghost stories sprinkled into the tour.
“The museum is excited to team with TheatreExtreme to bring this fun and chilling event to downtown Cartersville,” said Trey Gaines, director of the Bartow History Museum.
Tours begin at 6 p.m. with the last one leaving at 9:30 p.m.
Tickets are available on line at www. BartowHistoryMusem. org, by calling the museum gift shop at 770-382-2774, or by stopping by the museum at 4 East Church St. Participants are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. Tickets are $15 for members and $20 for non-members. The Ghost Walk may not be appropriate for young children.
