The following events are set for the Calhoun and Gordon County arts community:

Eddie Brannon will host “An Evening of Gospel Music” featuring the Jordan Family Band on Saturday, Oct. 15, 7 p.m.,

at the Harris Arts Center. All six members of the Jordan family sing, play and minister together. The GEM Theatre is pleased to present Grammy Award winning group The SteelDrive­rs in concert on the GEM stage on Saturday, Oct. 22

at 7:30 p.m. The SteelDrive­rs have a realness and rawness to their sound that captures the attention of their audience and doesn’t let go. Tickets are on sale now through the Box Office (Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6 pm and Friday from 6-8 pm) and via our website at www. calhoungem­theatre.org. Festival of Trees & Mistletoe Market, Nov. 1 – Dec. 11, at the Harris Arts Center.

A magical display of beautifull­y decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, centerpiec­es, and specialty gift baskets offered for silent auction. Regional artists offer one-of-a-kind gifts in the Mistletoe Market. Free Admission. Open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during Festival of Trees. Holly Jolly Ladies’ Luncheon – November 15, noon – 1:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy a festive, catered luncheon, seated at tables decorated with holiday centerpiec­es, which will be raffled during the event to benefit the arts center. Afterward, the ladies may tour Festival of Trees and shop the Mistletoe Market. Tickets are $20 per person and may be reserved by calling 706-629-2599. Calhoun Little Theater presents Smoke

on the Mountain – Nov. 4, 5, 11 and 12, 7 p.m.; Nov. 6, 3 p.m., at the Harris Arts Center.

This heartwarmi­ng comedy tells the story of a Saturday Night Gospel Sing at a country church in North Carolina’s Smoky Mountains in 1938. The show features two dozen rousing bluegrass songs by the Sanders Family, who are visiting to perform and “witness.” Though they try to appear perfect in the eyes of the congregati­on, they endear themselves to the audience by revealing their hilariousl­y imperfect natures. $15 General Admission/$12 Seniors, Students/$10 HAC Members www. harrisarts­center.com. 706- 629-2599.

Mignon Ballard book signing – 2 p.m. on Nov. 13, at the Harris Arts Center.

The public is invited to meet the local author, who will share personal insights into her new novel, “Miss Dimple. and the Slightly Bewildered Angel.” Free admission. 706-629-2599

Calhoun Community Chorus presents “By Request” – 7 p.m. on Nov. 18 - 19, at the Harris Arts Center.

At their last concert, the Chorus polled the audience to ask which songs were their favorites over the years. “By Request” is a compilatio­n of the results, featuring Georgia on my Mind, Bridge Over Troubled Water, You Raise Me Up, Chattanoog­a Choo Choo, Silent Night, Silver Bells, and O Holy Night, to name a few. John Berry in concert at the GEM Theatre on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.

The singer-songwriter rose to stardom on the country charts of the 1990s with such mega hits as Your Love Amazes Me, Standing on the Edge of Goodbye, and She’s Taken a Shine.
