Political Distractions
The issues in the current presidential campaign are the economy, creating jobs, the tax structure, maintaining our roads and bridges, illegal immigration, foreign involvement, our military, standing up to our enemies, foreign trade, energy, our national debt and a number of other things the federal government must manage. Fighting about personal items are simply distractions.
Donald Trump is new to politics and he is more accustomed to modern street fighting than he is debating political questions. In the first debate, he spent a lot of time responding to personal attacks and missed staying on the issues that would advance his candidacy. Before the second debate, NBC ( National Broadcasters for Clinton) released a tape that they had held for 11 years that contained comments by Donald Trump that were sexual and very embarrassing. He did not know his comments were being recorded and based on that, if we were going into court, the tape would not be admissible.
All of the news media rallied around and attacked Donald Trump for the things that he had SAID, and the Republican establishment reacted to this by trying to distance themselves from Donald Trump. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan has been the most outspoken of the establishment group and has publicly said he will not support Donald Trump and will not campaign with him. John Glenn has rejected Trump. Paul Ryan, John Glenn and Mitt Romney were involved in the past two presidential races and all were losers. In their view, it would not be right for a clown like Trump to become president.
No matter what Hillary has done or will do, no Democrats have stated they will not support her. Hillary has no regard for the term that we call truth. She surrendered her law license in 1994. Bill Clinton lost his license for lying under oath while he was president. She says the thing that she thinks will fit the situation and the people she is talking with. She said during the second debate that this was a practice of Abraham Lincoln. It would make you wonder why the people called him Honest Abe. I have never heard anyone call her Honest Hillary.
Donald Trump is not running for Sunday School Teacher or even Pastor of a church. His background is not theology. He is not going to become a saint when he dies. At the debate, he stood before the world and admitted that he had said these things and stated that he was sorry and should not have said them. Hillary’s husband refused to admit what he had done and was impeached by the House of Representatives rather than admit his proven improper actions.
The best approach to the debates is to stay on the issues and you had to be proud of Donald Trump at the second debate for answering Hillary’s personal charges and shifting right to the issues. Hillary has a lot of personal actions and positions that are open to attack. Hillary has promised to continue the policies of President Obama. This includes keeping Obamacare and putting more federal funding into it to keep it going. President Obama has destroyed our military and Hillary does not plan to build it back up. Hillary plans to raise taxes substantially on our businesses and commercial activities which will make our trade deficit and unemployment even worse. Hillary will approve the Trans Pacific Pact trade agreement which will open our market for even more untaxed imports into our country. American industries are at a disadvantage by having a higher labor cost and then having to pay a high tax to offer their products on the market. Foreign products come into the country without paying a tax of any kind to our government and can therefore sell at a lower retail price.
Hillary was responsible for the death of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya. Before September 11 of the year of the Benghazi attack, all of the other countries closed their embassies and consulates in Benghazi and sent their people out of the country because they were expecting trouble. The American Embassy was the only one still there and Ambassador Stevens requested 600 times by email for additional protection or an order to evacuate. Neither one came from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. After the four Americans were murdered, Hillary acted as if we were not expecting an attack and told the public in America that this was a reaction to an anti- Muslim video filmed in the United States. Any other American President and Secretary of State would have immediately sent in our military and found those that were responsible for these murders and executed them. Secretary of State Clinton and President Obama did nothing. This is the kind of response we can expect from a President Hillary Clinton.
Even with all of the above items, the most important is the type of Justices for the Supreme Court and Federal Courts that Hillary will nominate. In the second debate, Donald Trump stated that he would appoint Justices that would uphold the spirit and intent of the Constitution. Hillary stated that she wanted to appoint Justices that would support abortion and gun control.
Evangelicals are concerned about Donald Trump’s religious background. They need to look at the religious background of Hillary Clinton. Governor Pence is a good strong Christian advisor for Donald Trump to lean upon. Hillary’s closest advisor is a Muslim.
