CATSNIP Affordable Animal Services will be at the Gordon County Animal Shelter on Friday, Oct. 21 for low cost feline (cat) spay and neuter. Spay for $ 55, neuter for $35. Will also offer dental clinic and vaccine clinic for both cats and dogs.. Spay/ Neuter and Dental drop-off time is 7:30 a.m. sharp and reservations are necessary. The regularly scheduled meeting of the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission (NWGRC) Council will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 at the Gordon County Agriculatural Service Center, located at 1282 Highway 53 Spur, S.W. in Calhoun.

Please make plans to attend the October meeting of the Gordon/ Bartow Homebuilders Association at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20 at the Adairsville Inn, located at 100 S Main Street in Adairsville. It is important to attend this meeting as you receive 1/ 2 hour CE credit.

Open Enrollment for Medicare is right around the corner, from Oct. 15 – Dec. 7. A mobile unit will be in Calhoun on Monday, Oct. 24 in which GeorgiaCares representatives will be available to help individuals with the registration process. The mobile unit will be located at Gordon County Department of Family and Children Services from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Northwest Georgia Healthcare Partnership is partnering with the nursing program at Dalton State College to offer a free wellness workshop for the community on Monday, Oct. 24 by appointment only. The following services will be provided: diabetic information, blood pressure checks, meal planning, and risk assessments. Call, 706272-6664 to schedule an appointment.

First Thursday Book Club - Join the discussion on Thursday, Nov. 3 at Duke’s Restaurant. Arrive early to order dinner and the book discussion begins at 7 p. m.
