Calhoun Little Theatre presents “Smoke on the Mountain”

“Smoke on the Mountain” is coming to town! This ever popular play about the traveling gospel singing Sanders family will be a production of the Calhoun Little Theatre on Nov. 4, 5, 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. with a Sunday matinee’ at 3 p.m. at the Harris Arts Center in Calhoun.

Members of the cast are Zayne Allen ( who took over this role when another actor had to bow out) as Dennis Sanders, Madison Hunt as Denise Sanders, Jeri Dunn as June Sanders, Ginger McClure as Vera Sanders, Wendell Barnes as Burl Sanders, Colt Chambers as Rev. Oglethorpe, Tim Pridemore as Stanley Sanders, Susan Cooper as Mabelle, Mary Nell Podgorny as Myrtice, Joanne Emert as Martha, Phil Hayes, Cody Gibson and Nelson Shiver as musician cousins.

Not pictured: Sheryl McDaniel and Norm Tritton as musician cousins.

Directed by Coleen Brooks with musical direction by Dale Seger and as stage manager, Ken Russell.

This is the third time “Smoke on the Mountain” has been presented at the Calhoun Little Theatre. It played to sold out crowds previous times. People just love to listen to the wonderful gospel music and the downright hilarious antics of the Sanders family. Rev. Oglethorpe just doesn’t quite know how to handle them and the church ladies (except for one) are just scandalize­d by their antics. You don’t want to miss this fantastic production.
