Gordon County E-911 would like to invite the citizens and their children to their annual Meet & Treat on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, from 7 – 9 p.m. at 100 Nine One One Blvd Calhoun, GA 30701. Everyone is invited to come out and visit with the staff, tour the center, and get some candy.

Everyone is invited to the Community Praise and Health Fair on Saturday, Nov 5 at BB&T Park from 2 - 5 p.m. Music will feature Higher Calling and groups from Georgia- Cumberland Academy. Gordon Hospital/Creation Health will provide free health screenings. Refreshmen­ts and kid’s activities will also be available at this familyorie­nted fun afternoon.

Week of Nov. 6

The Gordon County Ministeria­l Associatio­n is again sponsoring the Gordon County Hunger Walk on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 to raise money for four food banks in the area. The walk will be held on the walking trails at the newer part of the Calhoun Recreation Center off of McDaniel Station Road at 3 p.m. Please come early enough to register prior to the walk from 2:30 - 3 p.m. Registrati­on will be in the pavilion next to the Black and Yellow playground near the George Chambers Resource Center.

The Calhoun Elkettes are hosting a BINGO night on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:00 p.m. The event will also feature food, game prizes, door prizes and a split the pot contest. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. for those that want to arrive early. For more informatio­n, please call Pam at 706-280-5168.

The Fairmount City Library will hold a $1.00-A-Bag book sale from Nov. 7 - 9, 2016. The library will provide the bag and patrons can fill it with their selections from donations that are currently for sale. The November meeting of the Conasauga Chapter of GNA will be held at the Whitfield Health Center, Dalton on Nov. 7, 2016 at 7 p.m. The speaker for the meeting will be Christine Pope, Licensed Acupunctur­ist with Bradley Wellness Center. She is a master’s degree graduate of Classical Chinese Medicine.
