Today adults and children go their separate ways when they have “free moments.” As I leave this topic let me recommend – no, let me urge—readers to go to the website “YouTube” and find the video of Eddy Arnold singing his song. You will be greatly blessed by doing so. I might also mention that Arnold’s video “Richest Man in the World” was watched in the same timeslot as the porch song. Both songs will cause you to appreciate the blessings of life and reflect upon times of a slower pace of life with associatio­n with those your love. The Blessings of our children: One of the great pleasures (and blessings) of life is to see parents and grandparen­ts with their young children. The love and pride they manifest in their children is a matter of great admiration and thankfulne­ss on the part of this writer. The babies and young ones don’t stay young for very long. They are young today and tomorrow they are in high school, college and married with their own children.

One of my observatio­ns to parents with babies and young children is to look long and hard at them because they will be 21-years old much quicker than they (the parents) got there. Also shared with parents of young babies is that babies change one’s life and lifestyle. And the changes never cease. Another point made to expecting parents is that the day you enter the hospital for the arrival of the baby and the day after you come home are two different worlds.
