Special religious services this Christmas weekend

Christmas Eve, Dec. 24

On Saturday, Dec. 24, Echota Baptist Church, located behind Papa Johns at 35 College Circle in Calhoun, will have Candle Light Service at 7 p.m.

Harvest Outreach Ministry will be hold Christmas Eve Service on Saturday, Dec. 24 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Everyone welcome. For more information, call Sheila Reid at 706-280-0883.

Calhoun Community Church invites you to a Christmas Eve Service on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 9 p.m. Come and experience the Story of Christmas, the singing of carols, and the sharing of communion. This will be a short service. Bring children in their p.j.’s and family and friends. The church is located at 222 W C Bryant Pkwy. in Calhoun at the old Martin Triple Theater Bldg.

There will be two worship services at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Calhoun on Christmas Eve. The first will be at 2:30 p.m. with a celebration of the Holy Communion or Eucharist and sermon. The congregation will sing three familiar hymns and there will be a learning activity for the children during the adult sermon. The second celebration of the Holy Communion or Mass will be at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday night. The congregation will sing carols for 30 minutes, with the Eucharist beginning at 11 p.m. This liturgy is planned that the first action of Christmas Day, at midnight, is to come to the altar to receive the Communion. The Adult Choir and a brass ensemble will provide music for this special occasion. All those present for the Eucharist are invited to receive the Communion. The Rev. Louis Tonsmeire, Rector, will preside and preach at both services.

Christmas Day, Dec. 25

Christmas Day Meal - Are you or someone you know in need of a hot meal on Christmas Day? If so, you’re invited to have lunch Christmas Day at Belmont Baptist Church. Drop in from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. for the meal.

Fairview Church of God at 1050 Taylortown Road in Oakman will present a special Christmas program for the community on Sunday, Dec. 25, at 11a.m. with song, drama, and refreshments for all. Philadelphia Baptist Church will be having a special Christmas service at 11 a.m. on Christmas Day. They will not have Sunday School or a night service.
