CALHOUN MOOSE LODGE TURKEY SHOOT

— The Calhoun Moose Lodge will host a Turkey Shoot, starting Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. and going each Sunday after that. It will be held at 329 Prater Lake Road, Calhoun, Ga. 30701. Call 706-629-4618 to sign up or for more information.

CALHOUN TENNIS ACADEMY JUNIOR PROGRAM

— The Calhoun Tennis Academy will have a Fall Junior Program October through November at the Calhoun Tennis Center at 601 South River Street. The class schedule is Tuesdays and/or Thursdays 3:45-4:30 p.m. for players ages 5-8, 4:30-5:30 p.m. for players ages 8-11 and 5:30-7 p.m. for players 11 and over. Pros will use their best judgment to place players in the correct group based on their age and skill level. GORDON COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT ADULT BASKETBALL LEAGUE

— The Gordon County Parks and Recreation Department will be having a Adult Basketball League. The first meeting will be on December 21, at 6:30 p.m. if you are interested in entering a team, you must be at the meeting or call 706602-4435 for more information. Sonoraville Recreation Complex is located at 7494 Fairmount Hwy S.E. Office Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m.-9 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Ask for Diane Jones or Craig Sparks.

SMOKER CULBERSON CLASSIC GOLF TOURNAMENT

— The inaugural Smoker Culberson Classic Golf Tournament will be held on Jan. 7 at Fields Ferry Golf Club with proceeds going to benefit the Calhoun High School baseball program. The event will be hosted by former Calhoun High standouts and current MLB players Josh Smoker and Charlie Culberson. Registration is open to individuals for $100 or register as a foursome for $320. There will be a shotgun start at 11 a.m. There will also be a raffle, silent auction, ability to buy mulligans and play from the a long drive pro’s shot and a reception following the round.
