TOBI Says, Do you like winter?

-

Those in the south do not mind the cold weather. But the ice on the roads causes lots of problems. Snow is different. It is always fun to play in the snow.

Others in places like Colorado like the cold and the snow. They like to ski. The resorts need the snow for people to want to come during the season. They are more prepared for the conditions.

Schools have snow days built into their schedule. The south may have two or three days, while places like North Dakota have two and three weeks.

What about the spring? The heavier the snow, the more flooding for the rivers, when the snow starts to melt. You have seen pictures of landslides of snow, coming down the mountains. It can be very dangerous. Later in the spring places along the Mississippi river, have flooding and landslides that cause lots of problems. The farmers do enjoy the added water for their crops to grow better.

Scientists can predict some things, but the problems are so complex that it is hard to be sure. Measuring snow depends on where you measure it. Just like temperatures. If you check it on the sunny side of the building it will seem warmer than if you check it on the shady side.

Only God knows how it all works together. He has a purpose for everything. He has a master plan. Man thinks he can know and change it. I am sure God has some laughs as He watches man try to impact our world.

So enjoy the winter. Enjoy the good parts, and accept the hard parts. That is part of life. There are ups and downs, and God knows those before they happen in your life. Remember He cares for you when things are going good, and they are going bad. He will always be there for you.
