Songs & Stories 2017 featuring Andy Orfutt Irwin coming to Craddock Center
CHERRY LOG, Ga. –Legendary storyteller, showman and humorist, Andy Orfutt Irwin will be performing at the Jan. 28, 2017 Songs & Stories hosted by The Craddock Center in Cherry Log ( Gilmer County), Ga. Known for his hilarious stories, whistling skills and, perhaps more than anything, the delightful character “Aunt Marguerite Van Camp”, Andy is a one-man artist extraordinaire. He describes himself as “equal parts mischievous schoolboy and the Marx Brothers, peppered with a touch of the Southern balladeer”.
Andy spent six years as a Featured Teller at the National Storytelling Festival. He has appeared ten times as Teller in Residence at the International Storytelling Center. Andy’s captivating talents have led him to be a Guest Artist at La Guardia High School of Art, Music, and Performing Arts in New York ( The “FAME!” School), Keynote Speaker/ Performer at the Library of Congress-Virburnum Foundation Conference on Family Literacy, Guest Writer/ Performer with the Georgia Tech Glee Club and a guest composer with the Amherst College Men’s Double Quartet. He was also Artist- In- Residence in Theatre at Emory University’s Oxford College from 1991 to 2007.
The Craddock Center is a nonprofit organization founded in 2001 by Fred and Nettie Craddock.
