One day, everyone will recognize Jesus
Last week, I wrote an article titled “WHAT DOES JESUS LOOK LIKE?” The article was a starting place for many conversations. One nice gentleman from Adairsville even brought a huge, framed picture for me to see. It filled the back of a minivan!! As it turned out, it was a picture of a banner. To both of our surprise, I knew the lady who had hand sewn the banner. Her name is Sue Hensley,, a beautiful lover of the Lord.
I began last week’s article by explaining how Jesus probably looked much different than what is portrayed through most pieces of artwork. Most all pictures of artwork, and even characters in plays and movies envision Jesus as a tall man, with long hair and a pale complexion. As I explained in the article,, this would most likely be inaccurate in many ways. Jesus would have looked like a common, Jewish man of the time he was on Ewarth.
Today, I very proudly proclaim to you that Jesus Christ, the Son of God (who also is God), will return some day.. The Bible tells us so! We don’t know when He’s coming; but according to scriptures, all prophesies that had to be fulfilled prior to His return have been fulfilled. Mark 13:32 says, “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Jesus could return before you finish reading this article. I hope you’re ready to meet Him if He does.
When Jesus returns, it will totally different than when He came to earth the first time. There won’t be anything common about it, not that there was anything common about the birth of Christ. When he comes the second time, men won’t need a star to find Him. He will come in full glory. Jesus’ second coming will be just like when He went to heaven the first time. Acts 1:911 reads, “Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
The ascension of Christ was only witnessed by a small group of men. His second coming will be way different. Every man, woman, boy and girl on the planet will see Jesus. He will come back personally and literally. Revelation 1:7 says, “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him.” No one will be unaware of Jesus’ return.
Not only will everyone behold Him at his return, but everyone will also recognize Jesus at His return. Not only will everyone recognize Jesus, but everyone will also proclaim Him as Lord! Philippians 2:9-11 says, “Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place, and gave Him the name above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.…” Woe to them that wait to choose sides on that day.
