Like it or not, Mr. Trump is the president. He was smart enough to understand that electoral votes, not popular votes, get you elected. The news media, Hillary, the Democratic Party, along with the liberals had already prepared the victory speeches and the plans for the next four years of an extended democratic policies. Then came the shock, Trump won. As they scramble to put their party together, we are enduring weeks of uncooperative and unsupportive presidential discontent. It will take a few more months for this to die down.

Much to his word, President Trump has acted on many of this campaign issues. Slow to some, but as he realizes the U. S. Government is a big company. I believe that job creation, should be first and foremost. However my concern is, will those that are unskilled and unemployed be able to put down the video games and begin the training that will be required for our more skilled industrial and technical jobs?

Job creation will require job skills, and many, not all of, these potential job seekers do not have the skills that will be required, nor the self disciple required to do these jobs daily. You have to go no further then the carpet mills to see how automation and techmical traing is now required to run this new age equiptment. When I am in Florida, I see many migrants picking fruit, not the best jobs but as I was told , locals will not do those jobs; these require no skills, just the discipline to show up to work everyday. So how do we figure out a way to motivate the unemployed to take a job, any job, and what are they willing to do TODAY to prepare themselves for the jobs that will be created under this presidency?

We were a pretty poor family growing up. I didn’t like it. By watching those that had and those that didn’t I saw two things. Education and work ethics were the difference between those that had and my family. Being poor STUNK. To be prepared for the jobs that are to be created, or any job, those seeking these jobs need to put down the video games and start preparing themselves. And it won’t be easy.

Even with a high school diploma, it took this writer a year of remedial classes to learn how to read at an adult level, write sentences and to do simple math before I could get accepted into a college. But today, with the HOPE Schollarship and PELL grants, if someone really wants it, Northwest Georgia Technical College or Georgia Highlands will find a way to get you in. Tutoring is available, they have learning labs, we now have the internet vs hours in the library, so improvement only takes self. These and other institutes can figure out the finances, and can begin the process of a person seeking a better job and make sure they are trained for that job, but they cant make the commitment for those uncommitted.

The President has spoken, probably too much, so put up the video games and PlayStations because the jobs are coming.
