Gwendolyn Penley

Gwendolyn Guess Penley, age 93, of Ranger, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at her residence.

Gwendolyn was born on April 9, 1923 in Gordon County to the late Mike Dewey Guess and Alice Lee Owens Guess. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Willard Penley. She attended Fairview Church of God.

Gwendolyn is survived by her son, David Penley and his wife, Rita; brother, Max D. Guess and his wife, Diane; two sisters, Christine Guess Stone and Phoebe Guess Sullivan and her husband, Mack; four grandchildren, Alisha Penley Johnson and her husband, Brent, Jason Wade Penley and his wife, Susan, Corey Allan Penley and Chad Howard and his wife, Shelby; eleven great- grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services were conducted on Sunday, March 5 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Interment followed in Hopewell Cemetery in Oakman.

Pallbearers serving will be Chad Howard, Jason Penley, Corey Penley, Noah Johnson, Wyatt Penley, Isaac Penley, Cole Penley and Brent Johnson.

The family received friends on Saturday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home.
