Mr. John Daniel Roberson, 66, of Calhoun, died Monday, March 6, 2017 following several months of declining health. He was born in Langdale, Ala. on Jan. 10, 1951, son of the late John William and Alice Virginia Monroe Roberson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Dawn Farrell; and a sister, Linda Brown.

Mr. Roberson had lived in Calhoun for 10 years, moving here from Newton, Ga. He was a veteran, serving his country in the U. S. Marines during Vietnam. He was awarded a Purple Heart during his service, and was a member of The Military Order of the Purple Heart.

Survivors include his ex- wife, Teresa Hawkins of Calhoun; his daughter, Wendy Roberson of Calhoun; a son- in- law, Rodney Farrell of Calhoun; a brother, Andy Roberson of Langdale, Ala.; sisters, Ann Williams of Langdale, Shelia Shiver of Atlanta, Margaret Hornsby of Lanett, Ala., and Sara Jane Cofield of Valley, Ala.; grandchild­ren, Shayna McMahan, Ashley Ledford, Dakota Ledford, Ember Milstead, Joey Farrell, Casey Farrell, and Jackie Farrell Ozzy; great- grandchild­ren, Teagan, Chloe, Rileigh, Bentley, Raegan, Jaylee, and Daniel; and a nephew and his wife, James and Laura Kennan of Newborn, Ga.

Honoring Mr. Roberson’s wishes, his body will be cremated and there will be no services.
