Jan Laiskonis

Janice Mary Laiskonis, 66, passed away on March 2, 2017 in Rome, Georgia with her husband Larry and daughter Amy by her side. Jan was born in Ludington, Mich. to Harlan and Viola ( Van Riper) Chatfield on Nov. 4, 1950. She married Larry Laiskonis on Jan. 17, 1969 in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. She worked for many years as an administrator specializing in accounting. Jan has resided in Michigan as well as Calhoun, Georgia. In the past year, Jan and husband Larry

have been fulfilling her dream of seeing the country as they traveled in the RV.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, sister Margaret Cargill and brothers William and John Chatfield. Jan is survived by her husband, Larry; her sister Ginny McClure and brother Donnie Chatfield; her children Amy Laiskonis and Michael Laiskonis; and granddaughter, Katie St. Germaine; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Service was held Monday, March 6 at Noon at Dalton First United Methodist Church, 500 S. Thornton Ave., Dalton, with the Dr. Kenny Ott officiating. The family received friends Sunday at Love Funeral Home in Dalton, 1402 N. Thornton Ave. from 4 until 7 p.m. As per Jan’s wishes she will be cremated and inurned in Michigan at a later date.
