United Way of Gordon County sets new campaign record
United Way of Gordon County’s ( UWGC) Board of Directors wishes to thank everyone who contributed to the most successful fund raising campaign in UWGC history- $ 731,452.48 was pledged from the Gordon County community to be used to support the 19 United Way agencies working right here in Gordon County.
“Although the campaign ended officially on February 28, additional contributions have been received and the new total is now $ 732,941.48,” said Executive Director Vickie Spence.
Board President Jeff Beamer, along with Campaign Chairperson Chris Pierce unveiled the surprising number to representative from the UWGC Board, Young Leaders Society and agency partners. The unveiling was streamed live and can be seen on the UWGC Facebook page.
“We are so fortunate to live in such a great community,” said Beamer. “We have so many employees that contributed through their workplace along with their employers.”
Pierce continued with these comments, “We are so excited about all the individual donors who love the community and support the agencies as well as all the board members and agencies that worked to make this campaign such a success.”
