Georgia United Credit Union, Susan G. Komen to hold Wash Me Pink Color Run in Dalton
DALTON, GA - Georgia United Credit Union’s Dalton Branch would like to invite you to participate in the fifth annual Susan G. Komen Wash Me Pink Color Run on Saturday, March 18. Come get “your color on” at the event benefiting the local Susan G. Komen Affiliate. Every runner gets “Washed in Pink” as Color Washers douse participants with Komen Color. Start with a clean, white shirt from the event and finish with a Color Washed shirt.
Georgia United challenges all civic organizations, partner companies and schools in the DaltonWhitfield area to sign up as a team and join them in honor of breast cancer survivors or in memory of someone you know.
The run will be held at Georgia United’s branch at 605 Calhoun Street in downtown Dalton at 8 a.m. with check-in beginning at 7:30 a.m. Cost is $30 for the 5K or one mile walk and $20 for ages 5 and under. Advance registration is encouraged and can be found at komenchattanooga.org.
The teams with the largest participation and largest fundraising efforts will receive special recognition and will be featured on Georgia United’s Facebook Page. The goal is to raise funds and awareness in fighting breast cancer – and this colorful run will ensure that your group will have fun in the process.
Susan G. Komen is the world’s largest breast cancer organization. The Central Tennessee Affiliate serves 10 counties in South Tennessee and 6 in Northwest Georgia. It is one of over 90 Affiliates on the front lines dedicated to ending breast cancer in their communities. Komen Affiliates fund innovative programs that help women and men overcome the cultural, social, educational and financial barriers to breast cancer screening and treatment. Funding for grants in the community are provided by Susan G. Komen and dedicated supporters.
Seventy-five cents of every dollar remains in the community to serve those who cannot afford screening or treatment. The remaining 25 cents is sent to fund ground-breaking research. All major advancements in the choice of care and treatment for breast cancer today have been touched by funding from Susan G. Komen.
