Calhoun High School students excel at Georgia Thespian Conference

Calhoun High School theatre students were recognized at the 2017 Georgia Thespian Conference in Columbus, Ga. Feb. 9- 11.

CHS’s one act production of Urinetown was selected to perform on the Bill Heard stage for the 5000 conference attendees. Several CHS students were also selected to perform in the prestigiou­s closing showcase with their musical number “If They Knew My Story” from the Broadway musical Bright Star.

In addition, CHS junior Sarah Green performed in the Georgia All State Musical, Memphis. The musical was adjudicate­d by national judges during the conference and was selected to perform at the Internatio­nal Thespian Conference which will be held the summer of 2017 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Green will travel with students from across the state to represent Georgia high school theatre with the production.
